How it works

Four things, in the order you meet them. Everything after the first one is being built.

  1. Work out what you actually have to pass

The route quiz asks six to ten questions and gives you a part-by-part checklist, a target level, and the official page to check it against. Free, no account, and it tells you plainly when the answer is that we cannot help you.

  2. Find out where your Dutch actually is

An adaptive check of twenty to twenty-five items, compared against the level your route requires. Long enough to mean something: it can send you towards groundwork instead of mock exams, and a ten-item quiz cannot support a claim like that.

  3. Practise the real formats, not a vocabulary game

Question banks per section and level, with an explanation on every item. Wrong answers are tagged with the misconception behind them, so the app can send you to the thing you actually got wrong rather than to more of the same.

  4. Know whether you are ready before DUO tells you

A readiness score per section from practice accuracy, mock results and topic coverage, with a plain verdict. Until it has been validated against enough real exam outcomes it describes rather than predicts, and it says so.

What the paid product will be

  • Practice engine

Banks per section and level: Lezen, Luisteren, Schrijven, Spreken and KNM, at A2 and at B1. Topic-balanced selection rather than random, so a short session covers the section instead of two corners of it.

  • Timed mock exams

Full simulations that mirror the official length, item count and timing. No hints, no explanations until you finish, and a timer that keeps running if your phone dies — the session lives on the server.

  • Feedback on writing and speaking

The two parts free competitors cannot grade. Write or record, get a score against a level-specific rubric and three concrete things to change. It is machine-generated, it says so, and official grading may differ.

  • Review that knows your exam date

Wrong answers come back on a spacing schedule that is clamped to your exam date, so nothing is scheduled for after it. Inside the last fortnight it compresses and prioritises your weak topics.

  • Readiness, per section

One score per part with the components shown, not a single number you cannot interrogate. Available as text throughout — no meaning is carried by a chart or a colour alone.

  • KNM on the current format

The KNM eindtermen changed on 1 July 2025 and a lot of material still in circulation predates it. Being demonstrably current is the whole point of this one.

Two things we will keep saying out loud

Schrijven A2 is handwritten, on paper

Typing practice trains a different task, and no app can fully simulate the real thing. We will say so on every Schrijven A2 screen and give you a printable answer sheet, because the alternative is letting you find out on the day.

The content is AI-generated and human-reviewed

Generated against the official eindtermen and blueprints, then reviewed — with a Dutch-speaking reviewer on the language content. Saying so costs less than being found out, and it is the same standard we ask of the sources you check us against.
